Refining Our Community Engagement ModelNewMed, becoming the Federation University School of Medicine, invited Assoc. Prof. Brahm Marjadi from Western Sydney University to conduct an afternoon workshop in September. Brahm kindly fitted this into his busy schedule. He outlined the international work and frameworks in the field of community engagement, right back to “who or what is community”. Similarly, the importance of reciprocity and listening when it comes to “engagement”. He spoke to important literature as well as practical strategies for community meetings. With our work already underway visiting cluster communities, this helped shift the passionate team’s thinking further.
