Information
The Federation University School of Medicine is currently finalising its program to deliver our postgraduate MD degree.
Subject to approval by the AMC, the School plans for commencement in September 2027.
The School will not seek applications from potential students until accreditation by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) is complete.
The School of Medicine will not offer places under the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS).
The School will accept full fee paying students.
There will also be some scholarships available.
Students will apply for up to 3 preferred community cluster locations to study, being the locations where the School has established agreements with primary care (General) practices, for the first three years of the program.
Students may apply for a local or nearby community, or be prepared to move to one of these locations.
In the final year of the program, students will need to complete hospital-based clinical rotations. For outer urban locations, this may mean being able to stay at home or in their residential location, but for those in smaller rural communities, it may require relocation for the necessary hospital experience.
The School of Medicine fee schedule will be available after accreditation.
